Walton Park is owned by the city of Litchfield, Illinois and maintained by the Park District.

Walton Park is a favorite to many and is located two miles past the Community Center at South State Street. This is an 11-acre park with a 40-acre lake and is open to the public every year from April 1st to October 31st during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. daily.

Walton Park is ideal for hiking, picnicking and enjoying the outdoors. It offers open picnic areas, four pavilions with barbecue grills, picnic tables, playground equipment, a lighted softball / baseball diamond, a basketball court, horseshoe pits, disc golf, restrooms, electricity, and water.

Additionally, a handicap walkway leads the way to two observation decks overlooking the lake with a full view of the wildlife and sunsets. Fishing is allowed but swimming is not. Canoes, row boats or boats with a trolling motor are the only water craft allowed on the lake.

Pavilion 1

Pavilion 1, located in the center of Walton Park, is the main pavilion. The park’s public restrooms are located within the pavilion. It also has a working fireplace, picnic tables, charcoal grill, electricity, and lighting.

Reserve Pavilion 1

Pavilion 2

Pavilion 2 is the second largest pavilion in the park. It is located slightly northwest of the main pavilion. It has picnic tables, a charcoal grill, and electricity.

Pavilion 3

Pavilion 3 is located on the southwest side of the park along the park’s main road, which runs north of the ball field. Pavilion 3 has picnic tables and a charcoal grill, but no electricity.

Reserve Pavilion 3

Pavilion 4

Pavilion 4 is located on the north side of Walton Park and is the closest to Walton Park Lake, offering a beautiful view of the lake. Pavilion 4 has picnic tables, a charcoal grill, and electricity.
